My tenth week at SFI: the carrot without the stick

When I started out at SFI, I just followed directions without really understanding what I was doing and why I was doing it.

Once you've registered you are asked to fill out a questionnaire about why you want to earn an extra income; what you would do if you had money to spare; what your short, medium and long-term goals are. Since I wasn’t prepared for these types of questions, I simply put down anything that came to mind to get past the questionnaire and onto the site. I was curious and wanted to see what I was getting myself into.

After watching the SFI Basics video presentation they directed me to my home page to start working on my personal To-Do list. This is a list that awards points for each action you take. In less than an hour I had already made over 500 points, which got me onto the ‘Fast Track’ and earned me 200 extra points. By then I was motivated enough to continue because I was already half way to the next rank.

It's been 10 weeks and I've come to realize that there’s a method to their ‘madness’: I call it 'the carrot without the stick'. Those daily, weekly and monthly actions are basic business practices. SFI has cleverly devised ways for people with no business experience to acquire good work habits and discipline by rewarding them for doing everyday tasks. That way, they stay focused on building their businesses and are able to 'Earn while they Learn'.

Now that I have my own Affiliates, I've found that many don’t like to answer the questionnaire because they feel it’s an invasion of privacy. But it’s not. It’s a way for them to start focusing on “why” they decided to register in the first place.

Nevertheless, most of them just want to know “where is the money?” I answer them that this is not a get-rich-quick deal and that if they want to earn real money without putting a little elbow grease into it, this is definitely not for them.

Starting any business is hard work. At least this one doesn’t cost anything to set up, and there is no limit to the amount of money you can earn if you invest enough time and effort into reading all the training material they provide for free. But most important of all, unlike many other sites, they don’t pressure you to buy anything, they don’t bombard you with unsolicited mails, and they have really knowledgeable people willing to help you get ahead.

That’s all for now folks! See you next week.

NINTH WEEK AT SFI - Frustrate? Ya Think?!

I can't believe this is my ninth week at SFI! I have learned a lot about internet marketing but am still a newbie... there is so much more to learn!

It can be overwhelming sometimes, especially when trying my hand at free advertising online: it is 'da pits' if you get my drift.

I will get the hang of it sooner or later, but in the meantime, I am going through the most varied of sensations and moods: from exhilarated to depressed; from motivated to downright wanting to chuck it all; from focused to irritated and even infuriated. That's when I get up from my computer and do something totally unrelated, like watering my plants, until I cool down.

As you can see, the frustration is there BUT... once I eat something and smoke a couple of cigarettes, I am usually ready to get back on that darned horse. I am nothing if not perseverant... or stubborn.

That's all for now!

PS One good piece of news: If you need to sell all that unwanted junk cluttering up your garage and closets, and don't have the time to do it, I can help you! Just register for free at Triple Clicks and sell your stuff online. List your first item for free. It's on me!

An online business is not for everyone!

MY EIGHTH WEEK AT SFI

I’m… wait for it… $1.51 dollars richer than last month!

I am starting my third month at SFI not much richer in the monetary sense, but much, much richer in knowledge and clarity of purpose.

I realize now that this is not for everyone! If you get ants in your pants from sitting at your computer more than 10 or 15 minutes; if you are absolutely computer illiterate and can’t even find the on/off button on your computer; or if you can’t find the time to dedicate 1 or 2 hours a day to learn how to acquire good work habits, find new ways to build up your SFI team or promote products from your Triple Clicks online store, then this is definitely not for you!

Like any regular business, at SFI you need to invest time and effort if you want to learn how to make money. They teach you and guide you but at the end of the day, it’s up to you to apply what you learn. No one can do it for you. You just have to keep focused on your ultimate goal: TO MAKE MORE MONEY!!!!!!

I’m off to read some more about free online advertising. See you next week!

I did it! I'm a Team Leader!

Today is a big milestone for me: I made Bronze Team Leader at SFI!

I also just published my first Website and it is AWESOME! Well, maybe not... but since it's my firstborn, it has to be AWE-SOME!

This website thing is not as easy as they make it look, but I did it! It explains what I am doing at SFI and TripleClicks, but in easier to understand terms, so go check it out and leave a comment so I know you visited.

My first penny auction at Triple Clicks was exhilarating!

Viva Mexico! Viva SFI! Viva Triple Clicks!

Today we celebrate Independence Day in my wonderful adopted country, so from the bottom of my heart and at the top of my lungs I want to shout Viva Mexico!

And because I had such an exciting week at SFI I also want to shout Viva SFI! And let’s not forget Viva Triple Clicks! That’s where I lost my shirt but held on to my undies… just kidding!

But yes, I finally did it! I participated in my first auction at Triple Clicks!!!! I didn’t win but it was exciting to watch the clock tick down to the final seconds while this large red banner flashed: “You have the winning bid” …And then some dumb-ass would come along and the banner would change to: “you have been outbid”.  I ended up losing 58 TCredits but what a rush! Since then I have been watching (lurking) and waiting for the right moment to pounce on some distracted soul and snatch that auction out from under him/her.

Meanwhile, I made back most of the TCredits I lost in the auction by participating in Triple Clicks contests: I won 10 from the hourly T-Time and 25 in the PTP (Pick The Price) contest. You win 100 TCredits if you guess the exact final auction price and 25 if you are the closest without going over. Oh, and I received 10 more TCredits, this time from SFI, for maintaining my Executive Affiliate rank.

Ah yes, you see, I am now an EA2, which basically means I have held my Executive Affiliate rank for two months in a row. I can continue to be an EA2 or become a Team Leader. Of course it’s no use reaching the rank of Team Leader unless you have an active team. Which brings me to my next piece of good news:

I found a store at Triple Clicks that sells Personally Sponsored Affiliate (PSA) shares, so with my remaining TCredits I bought some shares and added 25 new PSAs to my team. Now if I can just get them to DO something… lol!!!

You see, thousands of people sign up every day at SFI because it’s free or just out of curiosity, or because they think it’s an opportunity to ‘get-rich-quick’. Once they realize they will have to treat it as a regular business, meaning they DO have to work and learn the ropes, many drop out. But those who stay and enjoy the challenge make it all worthwhile. Let me tell you, we are a bunch of very motivated people!

Well, that’s about it for this week. I’m off to peruse (my friend Debbie used that word a few days ago) a few articles about online marketing.

Tata for now!

Why SFI makes me happy

Hi my friends!

I am following three, yes three auctions at the same time at Triple Clicks and I must confess I am getting dizzy. Since there is no chance of me winning any of them, I have decided to put my energy to better use, this rainy Sunday afternoon in Playa del Carmen, by telling you about my week at SFI.

I set up a Standing Order for 125 TCredits at Triple Clicks to automatically maintain my Executive Affiliate (EA) status each month. This, added to the TTime drawings I have won, takes my total up to 146 TCredits (chuckle, chuckle). I am almost ready for my first auction.

I got another Personally Sponsored Affiliate (PSA) (Yay!) and was then assigned 2 more Co-Sponsored Affiliates (CSAs) (double Yay!), so now I have a total of 18 people to help and guide. I think this is the part I enjoy the most. I am a sort of shy, behind-the-scenes kind of person, so helping others reach their goals, by gently prodding or delicately suggesting ways to do it, is perfect for me. Of course, it's better if you lead by example. The best way for people to see how you are doing here at SFI, is through the badges you earn.

I have earned several new badges lately:

- E365 Finalist: Passed first 5 rounds
- EA2: Second month as Executive Affiliate
- 1,000 AskSC Ratings: I read and rated a minimum of 30 Q & A every day
- Power Ranks based on total Versa Points (VP): Top 20 in my class Top 50 in my country
- 30 Daily VP streak; (I have done my To-do list every day without fail since my first day)

In short, what these badges reflect is that I am pretty motivated, I'm advancing and I'm learning good work habits. It's not hard and often doesn't even feel like work. I enjoy reading and learning about on-line business and marketing and I love getting some kind of recognition for all my hard work and dedication.

But what I like best about SFI is the fact that it doesn't bombard you with "offers" and "bargains" all day long. It leaves you to your own devices and lets you progress as fast or as slowly as you want. No pressure!

Anyway, that's about it for this week. I'm off to watch another auction!

PS Feel free to leave a comment if you find this interesting.

Yay! This is fun! I earned REAL money!

My first paycheck!!!!!!!

Cheers to you and cheers to me!

Yep! $1.13 dollars to be exact. That was my share of the Executive Pool at Triple Clicks for the month of August. Ok, so it's not much, but I didn't put any money IN to get this money OUT, so I couldn't expect much.

But today is September 1st. That means I wipe the slate clean and I have a whole month ahead of me to achieve my new goals:

I WILL sponsor more PSAs and CSAs (Personally and Co-Sponsored Affiliates)

I WILL refer more ECAs (E-Commerce Affiliates to open their stores on Triple Clicks)

I WILL accumulate more VP (Versa Points)

I WILL retain my EA status (Executive Affiliate) with a minimum of 1,500 Versa Points

I WILL reach round 6 of the E356 contest (two days to go! I am hanging in there!)

But most of all: I WON’T GIVE UP!!!!

This last point, "I won't give up!" is the most important for me. I realize it takes work to achieve what you want in life, and sometimes motivation is hard to find. That's why I will put this phrase where I can see it every day.

So, you must be wondering how it went this past week. Well, let me tell you:

I got my first PSA! That is a BIG deal! He's ALL mine and I can be there for him from the very beginning, so we can progress together.

I also still have 15 CSAs (one opted out) who I am trying to help get through their first month, and will get at least two more assigned to me as soon as I enter my second month as EA.

I won six more TCredits at Triple Clicks’ hourly game “T-Time”, bringing my total up to 16. Not enough to enter an auction, but getting there, little by little.

By the way, the other day I saw a guy win two auctions in a row with less than 15 TCredits each, but that’s not the norm. Most have at least 100 TCredits and even then they often don’t win. So luck is definitely important, but knowing when to bid or when to just wait and see how it plays out is also important.

I am still steadfastly logging in every day to the SFI Affiliate Center and doing every daily, weekly and monthly action for more Versa Points. I am still reading as much as I can about the business, and I continue to apply what I am learning.

Well, that’s about it for now. Have a great week!
